NEET exam date 2026 and 2027, explained year by year

Searching for the NEET exam date returns a mix of old articles, coaching blogs and copied calendars, and many of them quote a date without saying which year, which sitting or which candidates it applies to. This guide walks through the NEET UG timeline for 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 and shows how to read it without being misled.

Why one NEET exam date is rarely the whole story

NEET UG is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for undergraduate medical admissions, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). In most years there is a single pen-and-paper sitting. But a cycle can also include a re-examination, a rescheduled session or a sitting for affected candidates only. If a page shows a single date and nothing else, it may be hiding that.

That is why the live pages on this site list each event separately, with its scope, status and the official notice it comes from. See the full NEET UG exam date hub for the current record.

NEET exam date 2026 and the re-NEET exam date 2026

For the 2026 cycle, NTA notice titles refer to the examination held on 3 May 2026 and to a re-examination scheduled on 21 June 2026. These are two events. The re NEET exam date 2026 page explains the re-examination notice and who it concerned, and the NEET exam date 2026 page keeps the whole timeline together.

Both 2026 dates on this site come from notice titles on the NTA website. The notice PDFs are scanned images, so a person still has to confirm them against the PDF. We say so on the page instead of calling the date verified when it is not.

NEET exam date 2025 and 2024

For 2024, an NTA final answer key notice is titled "NEET (UG) - 2024 exam held on 05.05.2024", which gives 5 May 2024. For 2025, NTA published admit card, city intimation and syllabus notices, but the titles we checked do not state the sitting date, so the NEET exam date 2025 archive page shows no date until someone copies it from the notice. An empty field is better than a guessed one.

The NEET exam date 2024 page links to the source notice, so you can check it yourself.

NEET exam date 2027: what we can and cannot say

Students search for "neet exam date 2027" and "2027 neet exam date" constantly, often hoping for a prediction. We do not predict. NTA decides the date and announces it by notice; past years are not a rule. As of 26 October 2026, no NEET UG 2027 exam date was found in the official sources we could check, and neet.nta.nic.in blocks automated requests, so a person must confirm the status by hand.

The NEET UG 2027 status page shows this with the time it was last checked. When a date is announced, it will appear there with its source notice.

How to check a NEET date yourself in three steps

1. Open the official site, neet.nta.nic.in, and look at the public notices.
2. Check the NTA notice list at nta.ac.in for the year you need.
3. Read the notice itself, not a headline. Note the year, the scope and the issue date, because a later notice can supersede an earlier one.

Using the date once you have it

A confirmed date is only useful if it turns into a plan. Put it into the exam countdown, build a weekly schedule with the NEET study timetable, and schedule the final months with the revision planner. If the date is not announced, set your own private target date; the tools support that without pretending it is official.
